West Byfleet Community Choir
Come and sing with us!! We are a friendly, mixed, inclusive, local choir who enjoy singing a wide variety music including selections from musicals, pop classics and some more challenging pieces that stretch the musical muscles.
There are no auditions, and you don’t need to be able to read music; our main aim is to have fun singing with people of all ages and backgrounds from the local and wider community. We just love to sing and have fun together! Part of that fun is having a pub social after our rehearsal on the first Tuesday of the month and celebrating special events with each other!
Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings, 7.50pm to 9.20pm in West Byfleet Infant School Hall and we tend to hold a regular concert in the summer and at Christmas, plus other events throughout the year. The cost is £6 per session. Anyone who is interested can come along for a free taster session. For more information on joining the choir please contact https://www.wbcc.uk/.
We are very keen to recruit a few more men to our group, so please spread the word! The wonderful mix of all voices really makes a beautiful sound!!
As a Community Choir, we love to get involved! We have had great fun over the last three years being involved with St John’s Church Christmas Festival, singing and also taking part in the community entry - you can see the photos below some of our entries as a choir including, 2024’s Eco tree made from recycled materials, of our 2022 Christmas tree entry and our 2023 Christmas memories book, which we all contributed to. In addition to singing at the festival, we also take part in the Switching on of the Christmas Lights in West Byfleet - bringing fun and festivity to the event with Christmas carols and songs, (see video and photos below). We love our visits to our local care home too, where we often get the residents singing along to songs they know and listening to some new ones too! It’s always a joyful, fun event and enables us to give back to our community. In the past we have also sung at West Byfleet Infant and Junior School Christmas Fair.
We have just started also having open rehearsals at the end of the summer and Christmas where friends and family can come and hear us sing- it’s just a very relaxed concert - see the video and photos below.
